Introduction to Linguistics

It is commonly said that humans are social animals. “Society” is composed of relationships among people. An essential element in building relationships is communication, and language is the basis of communication. People use language to deliver knowledge, to remember things, and to express themselves. Language also connects people, cultures, and generations. Language is the most beautiful and effective tool that people use to be humans and to make better people and societies. Linguistics focuses on this powerful and historic tool and the numerous outcomes language has created. However, this discipline is not merely about language and letters. While the field of linguistics comprehensively researches the structure and principles of languages used in different countries, it also explores the diverse origins and processes of philosophical, scientific, and social phenomena that are created by language, that most special ability of humans.
